Jamb Mount Installation Instructions
The jamb mount is designed for doorway areas where the handrail attaches to the side door frame or jamb. It is ideal for garage entries, porch doors, back doors, and short entry steps.
Tools Required
Choose the Right Installation Height
A common handrail height is between 34” and 38” from the floor. Many customers choose around 36”, which is close to standard doorknob height. Install it at the height that feels most natural and comfortable for the user.
Set the Handrail Into Position
Hold the handrail against the door jamb and make sure it is aligned properly with the entryway. Once positioned, mark the screw holes with a pencil.
Pre-Drill the Marked Holes
Using a 1/8” drill bit, carefully pre-drill all marked holes. Pre-drilling helps make the installation cleaner and reduces the risk of damaging the screw heads.
Secure the Handrail in Place
Use the included T25 Torx bit and screws to mount the handrail securely. Apply firm pressure while driving the screws to help avoid stripping the heads.
Wall Mount Installation Instructions
The wall mount is designed for short stairways or entry areas with a flat wall beside the steps. For best results, secure the handrail into wall studs whenever possible.
Tools Required
Choose the Height and Location
A common handrail height is between 34” and 38” from the floor. Choose the height that feels comfortable for the main user and make sure the location gives natural support when stepping up or down.
Locate the Wall Studs
Use a stud finder to locate and mark the studs behind your wall. If the mounting holes cannot safely connect to studs, a secure wall board may be needed for proper support.
Install a Wall Board If Needed
If your chosen location does not allow the screws to properly connect with studs, install a strong wall board across the studs first. This creates a more secure mounting surface for your handrail.
Position and Mark the Handrail
Hold the handrail in place and confirm the angle, height, and distance from the entryway feel right. Then mark the screw holes with a pencil.
Pre-Drill and Mount Securely
Using a 5/32” drill bit, pre-drill the marked holes. Then use the included screws and your drill to mount the handrail securely into place.
